Join us for a presentation by Noel Levee, Johnstown City Historian, on the practice of moving houses from one location to another in the 18th and 19th centuries.  Learn the HOW, WHY and WHICH houses were moved and are still standing within the city. The Burk Inn is an example.

Join with us to clean  historic markers throughout the city.  We will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Sir William Johnson Park at on West Main Street and hand out assignments.  

Follow up:  We had a great day.  We cleaned ten markers.  You may see our handiwork in downtown Johnstown, along South Melcher Street, and at the old county jail.  Save the date – April 26, 2024

Join with the Johnstown Retired Teachers Association as the members celebrate one of Johnstown’s most illustrious citizens, Mrs. Rose Knox, businesswoman and philanthropist.  Guest speaker will be Rachel Greenfield, a historian who is researching the life of Mrs. Knox for a forthcoming biography.

Samantha Hall-Saladino is the Executive Director of the Fulton County Museum as well as the Fulton County Historian.  Samantha will share letters and journals from the archives of the Fulton County Museum and the importance of these documents in understanding past events.

After being closed all winter, it’s time to clean the Drumm house in preparation for our summer hours.  We will be working inside and out.  Washing windows, dusting displays, raking the yard, and trimming bushes.   We always need volunteers to help with Spring Cleaning.  Join us and learn bits and pieces about Johnstown’s history as we clean together.
